Shirsho Shreyan, MBBS, is a Postdoctoral Research Scholar in the Department of Neurosurgery at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). He received his medical degree from Rajshahi Medical College in Bangladesh. During medical school, he developed an interest in cerebrovascular diseases and neurological conditions affecting older adults, particularly ischemic stroke. He previously worked as a research assistant with the World Stroke Organization (WSO) and the Nepal Stroke Project and has also been involved with the Research and Academic Committee of the British Geriatrics Society (BGS). 

In the Miller Lab, Shirsho investigates cerebrovascular changes associated with intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) and hydrocephalus, with a particular interest in understanding how alterations in the cerebral vasculature may impair neurodevelopment, and impact long-term outcomes. He also conducts research with the Stroke Thrombectomy and Aneurysm Registry (STAR) under the mentorship of Dr. Alejandro M. Spiotta and is leading several multicenter studies focused on neuroendovascular treatments of Acute Ischemic Stroke, Refractory migraine and Pediatric venous sinus stenosis.

Shirsho aims to pursue a career as a physician-scientist, with a research focus on understanding the neurovascular unit and optimizing treatment strategies in neuroendovascular surgery ensuring long-term success efficacy.
